Come respond to violence with prayer, adding our intentions to those around the world. We’ll end by blessing the Peace Pole and recommitting to work for justice and peace.

Bring your pet to this Eucharist for all creatures great and small. A reception with treats for animals and humans will follow.

FEAST OF ALL SOULS EUCHARIST: Thursday, November 2
Remember all our departed loved ones at this Eucharist, with special music and reading from the Book of the Names of the Dead.

Commemorate all saints, known and unknown. 10am Eucharist will be a festive service with baptisms.

BASICS CLASSES: Sundays, Oct 1-Nov 19
“The Basics” is an eight-week faith formation series offered to all, and required for parishioners marking a significant transition in the church (e.g. baptism, confirmation, membership, marriage).

ADULT CHOIR RETREAT: Saturday, September 9
A great way for new and returning singers to enjoy a day together and to become familiar with the anthems, especially if you’d like to join the choir but can’t attend every Wednesday rehearsal.

MINNESOTA YOUTH MUSIC FESTIVAL: Saturday, November 4
Our singers in 2nd-6th grade will be participating in this exciting event! Children’s Choir learned the music last spring. Additional rehearsals will be scheduled, too.

Come serve with us to provide free indigenous meals to our neighbors. Shifts needed:
• Food prep: 1:30-3:30pm
• Dining room setup: 4-5pm
• Dinner service: 5-6:30pm
• Cleanup: 6:15-7:30pm

CHILI BOWL COOK-OFF: Sunday, November 19
Eat together at the 6th Annual Chili Bowl Cook-off. Enter your best red, white, or vegetarian chili. Or come taste all the entries and vote on your favorites. Sides and beverages provided. Admission is a cash donation to the Hearts to Homes ministry.

CROCUS HILL COFFEE HOUR: Thursday, September 7
We invite all St. John’s members and especially ministry leaders to come build relationships with the Crocus Hill preschool families. At this coffee hour, we’ll welcome them back for the school year.

RAMSEY HILL HOME TOUR: Thursday, September 14
Get to know our neighbors and share our historic church with them. In the spirit of being the church of the open door, we are part of the 2017 Ramsey Hill Home Tour. Parishioners will be on hand to provide tours of our beautiful worship space, Compline will be held at 7pm, and light refreshments will be served to our guests.

NOONDAY PRAYERS & OWLs LUNCHEON: Tuesday, October 17
Everyone is invited to Noonday Prayers at 12 noon in the Chapel.
Following the service, the clergy and staff of St. John’s invite the OWLs (all who self-identify as Older, Wiser Laity) to a luncheon & program. We will explore “Privilege, Gratitude, and Faith,” especially as it relates to race, gender, class, and age. Please make sure to RSVP for the luncheon.
