When girls in developing nations don’t have access to menstrual supplies, they are forced to miss school, falling further and further behind their male counterparts. Sometimes they are even left with no option but to drop out of school entirely. Reusable menstrual kits from Days for Girls empower girls to continue their education uninterrupted.
The last two groups from St. John’s that traveled to Uganda purchased Days for Girls kits to bring to the young women of Kayoro. Now we’re joining with stitchers from Ascension Church to form an official team that will make the reusable supplies from scratch. We need cutters, stitchers, and assemblers to work either at home or as a group.
Our first meeting for instructions and getting started will be held on Monday, July 23 from 5-9pm at Ascension Church in the parish hall. A light supper will be provided.
