BAPTISM SUNDAY: THE FEAST OF THE BAPTISM OF OUR LORD
The Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord will be celebrated Sunday, January 13 at the 10am worship. To plan a baptism for yourself or a child, please contact Jered Weber-Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Compline is offered every Thursday evening at 7pm by candlelight. This is a short service of ancient prayers, psalms, chanting, and mystery. Music will be performed by local vocal ensembles. Incense will be present at this service, as well as the Holy Spirit. All are welcome.
On Friday, January 25 at 7:00pm Director of Music, Richard Gray, presents an evening Organ Concert as part of the 2018-2019 Sacred Music at St. John’s series. Music performed includes Bach, Howells, Phillips, Willan, the Hymn Alleluila, Sing to Jesus!, Alain and Vierne.
There is no charge for admission and a reception will follow the recital.
During the month of February we will once again open our gym and provide families experiencing homelessness with a place to sleep, some snacks, and hosts with compassion for their present situation. Signups for volunteer slots will be available online and in the Gathering Space.
NOONDAY PRAYER & OWLS LUNCHEON Noonday
All are welcome at Noonday Prayer in the Chapel on Tuesday, January 15 at noon. Afterwards, the staff and clergy of St. John’s invite everyone who identifies as Older, Wiser Laity to a luncheon and program at 12:30 in the Fireside Room. Please RSVP to the church at 651-228-1172 x10 and let us know any dietary restrictions.
St. John’s Annual Meeting is Sunday, January 27 at 11:15am in the Gym. Come hear the stories of all the wonderful work being done at St. John’s, vote on new vestry members, and preview the 2019 budget. The church will provide lunch; please bring a dessert to share. Nursery care is available during the meeting for birth-4 years.
