MAUNDY THURSDAY HOLY EUCHARIST
On Thursday, April 18 at 7pm with foot-washing & stripping of the altar.
It is St. John’s tradition in response to Jesus’ request to His disciples that they “watch and pray on the hour” the night before Jesus begins his Passion. On Thursday, April 18 at 8pm, our chapel will be open for silent prayer and meditation from the close of the Maundy Thursday Eucharist until noon on Good Friday. Readings, books, prayers, meditations, and nourishment will be available. Signup at https://tinyurl.com/SJEvigil19.
For more information, contact Gwen Odney at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: there will be no Sung Compline service on Maundy Thursday.
Join us on Good Friday, April 19 for worship at noon and 7pm with Communion from the Reserve Sacrament.
HOLY SATURDAY WORSHIP
A short liturgy of prayers, reflection, and quiet held in the chancel on Saturday, April 20 at 10am. Communion is not served at this service. Rather, it is an opportunity to pause and reflect during the busiest week of the Church year. As the body lies in the grave in its final hours, we prepare ourselves through contemplation and prayer, to receive with gladness the Resurrected One in our midst again.
THE GREAT VIGIL OF EASTER AND BAPTISMS
The Great Vigil of Easter and Baptisms, with lighting of the new fire and reading of our salvation history will be Saturday, April 20 at 7pm. A festive reception follows.
