Families are invited to the CYF Center Open House on Sunday, September 8 at 9am in the CYF Center (formerly known as the Gathering Space). Come to the lower level below the worship space to see our new Godly Playrooms and meet storytellers and volunteers.

Youth Faith formation for grades 6-12 resumes Wednesday, September 11 from 5:30-8pm. Gather for open gym at 5:30pm and dinner at 6:30pm followed by programming. To register or learn more, contact cyf@stjohnsstpaul.org.

Children’s Faith Formation for age 5 through grade 5 begins Sunday, September 15. Beginning at 9am, children can meet in the Choir Room with Haley for Children’s Choir, or there will be quiet activities available in the CYF Center (adult supervision is provided). AT 9:45am, parents/caregivers will pick children up in either the Choir Room or the CYF Center and head to worship together as a family. At 10am, children will process behind the Verger down the aisle and leave the worship space together for Godly Play. At 10:40am, children rejoin their families in worship. To register or learn more, contact cyf@stjohnsstpaul.org.

CYF volunteers are needed as we start our 2019-2020 program year. Volunteering for Children’s and Youth ministries lets you get to know our young people, recognize the importance of youth at St. John’s, and build up our parish’s one body of worship.

To volunteer, contact Katie Madsen at cyf@stjohnsstpaul.org.

Godly Play Greeters: Welcome children to the classroom, ensure they are comfortable and ready, and then observe the lesson. Anyone in ninth grade or older is welcome to volunteer. The ideal time commitment is once per month, but it is very flexible. Training is provided.

Godly Play Storytellers: Share the selected Bible story for the week and engage children in “wondering questions.” Classrooms are open Fridays to practice the week’s story and hands-on components if you want. The ideal time commitment is once per month, but it is very flexible. Anyone in eleventh grade or older is welcome to volunteer. Training is provided.

Youth Group: We are seeking adult volunteers to join Youth Group Meetings Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm. Simply welcome our youth and be present with them during their group discussions.
