March is Minnesota FoodShare Month, the largest grassroots food and fund drive in the state. On Pack the Pews Sunday, March 1, Saint John’s parishioners donated 1063 lbs. of food and $1660 – surpassing our 2020 goal of 1042 lbs of food and $750 collected during the month of March!
Stop by the church entrance and grab a grocery bag with a list of needed items or fill any bag from a grocery store or that you have at home. Donations can be dropped off in the marked bins in the CYF Center or the narthex.
You can also help by donating funds. Food shelves can stretch cash further because of their access to discount products and bulk-buying programs. Click here to donate online and select ‘Mustard Seed Fund’ or send a check payable to ‘St. John the Evangelist’ and write “Food Shelf” in the memo line.
Needed non-perishable items include:
- Dry Beans
- Low-sodium Soups
- Canned Stews
- Chicken, Beef & Vegetable Broth
- Peanut Butter
- Rolled Oats
- Canned Tomatoes
- Canned Meat & Chicken
- Canned Seafood & Tuna (in water)
- Low Sugar Cereals
