Barbara’s position has two components, as the deacon is “the bridge between the church and the world.”  She  coordinates the adult education programs for the parish, as well as overseeing all areas of communications.  She mentors the Spiritual Life and Fellowship Commissions and authors “The Tuesday Letter,” a weekly online meditation.  In her role as deacon she preaches every month, assists the rector with worship and pastoral care, and is the liaison with the St John’s Clinic in Kayoro Village, Uganda.  She is also the author of Finding Faith at the Movies (Morehouse, 2005).
