We are so glad you found your way to St John the Evangelist Episcopal Church. Whether you are a long time Episcopalian or have never stepped foot in a church we welcome you.
You are always welcome to join us for all that St. John’s has to offer. First and foremost participating in Sunday morning worship is key in a Christian Community. Here we gather to pray, learn and gain support from one another. There are also many educational offerings and ministries outside of Sunday morning worship that you might wish to participate in as well.
New visitors are especially encouraged to join in membership classes held throughout the year, typically meeting between our two Sunday services. These offer one pathway to official membership at St. John’s, culminating in a formal welcome by the congregation at a Sunday morning worship service.

Exploring Membership Classes
The membership classes offer a chance to meet the clergy and leaders of the parish and others like yourself who are exploring membership. We talk about our spiritual backgrounds and faith traditions. We address questions and explore the Episcopal Church further.
We invite our members to consider participating at St. John’s in the following ways:
- Attend Sunday worship
- Participate in a ministry within our community
- Make a financial commitment
- Deepen your faith through prayer, study of Scripture, and other spiritual practices
These are some of the ways we express gratitude to God for the many blessings of our lives. We also ask to have your membership records transferred if you belonged to another church. If you’re new to the Episcopal Church, we’ll explore with you the option of being welcomed by the bishop in the Episcopal Church in Minnesota at a later date. St. John’s clergy are always happy to meet with you for further discussion around membership.
