Godly Play (Sunday School)
Godly Play is a Montessori-based approach to religious education, using a multi-sensory approach to telling Bible stories with three-dimensional materials.
On Sunday mornings at 9:45 am (except the first Sunday of each month) children from age 4 through kindergarten meet in the Undercroft next to the nursery; grades 1-6 meet in the 2nd floor classrooms.
On the fourth Sunday of each month children stay in Godly Play during the whole service and join their families following the service. This Sunday allows the group to share a feast of bread and juice and build community with one another.
Everyone is welcome to visit Godly Play. We invite family adults to assist the storyteller at least once a year. This helps our families understand and become familiar with Godly Play.
Teaching Godly Play is a rich experience. We are blessed with a dedicated, seasoned group of storytellers who meet regularly to support each other and learn. If you are interested in finding out more about this ministry please contact Jean Hansen at 952-201-0424, or email@example.com.
The success of Godly Play depends on the help of volunteers. If you can volunteer to be a greeter, sign up here,or a coffee hour host, sign up here, or to help out in other ways, please contact Jean Hansen at 952-201-0424, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The first Sunday of each month there is no Godly Play and children worship together with their families. Coffee hours following First Sunday services are hosted by Godly Play families.
The nursery is located in the Undercroft (lower level of the church). On Sundays, the nursery is staffed from 8:45 am to the end of the 10:00 am service (September -May) and 9:45 am through the end of the 10:00 am service (June – August). Children from birth to age 5 are lovingly cared for so that parents may attend church programs and services.
Child care is provided for many other services and programs during the year and availability will be announced in conjunction with the event.
