June 24-June 28
We’ll be joining with other local churches to work on a new Habitat for Humanity project in Saint Paul Park. All skill levels welcome. Tools and training are provided. Click here to sign up, click a date you’d like to work, and follow the registration instructions.
Volunteers age 16 and older with any skill level are welcome. If you’re unable to volunteer, please consider bringing lunch one day for the 15-20 people who will be working.
St. John’s is a charter member of Faith Builders, a coalition of five area congregations including Church of the Assumption, the Cathedral of St. Paul, House of Hope Presbyterian Church, and Unity Church-Unitarian. We support Faith Builders and Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity with volunteers and more than $2,500 in financial gifts to improve affordable housing in the Twin Cities. We have been volunteering with them for nearly 15 years.
Each summer, we help out on a project in St. Paul, often just a few minutes’ drive from St. John’s. All skill levels are welcome. Beginners are very much encouraged to participate. Every year, the crew includes people who have never worked on a Habitat for Humanity project before — some who have never even used a hammer before! No matter your level of experience, help is needed. When you join, you will be working with people of active faith from other local congregations, and you’ll be addressing the need for affordable housing in a concrete way.
