HEALING PRAYERS

Sundays During Lent at 10am, Chapel

After you receive Holy Communion, if you have joys or struggles you wish to bring to God in prayer, come into the Chapel. A Community of Hope intercessor will pray with you, and if you wish, a clergyperson will anoint you. If attending 8am worship, please mention your need for healing prayer to the clergy after the liturgy, and the clergy will pray with you in the Chapel.

 

DAILY MORNING PRAYER

Weekdays at 7:45am, Chapel

This simple service, said directly from the Prayer Book, lasts 30 minutes.

EVENING CHORAL EUCHARIST

The parish choir offers Franz Schubert’s Mass in G Major and Brahms’ Geistliches Lied. Led by Richard Gray, Director of Music, and accompanied by the Artaria String Quartet and guest organist, Jessica Park. A reception will follow.

Discuss grief and loss through the lens of five different TV shows. St. John’s youth will lead this intergenerational conversation series. On March 20 we’ll discuss Grey’s Anatomy.

VIGIL IN THE CHAPEL

Thursday, April 18 at 8pm through Friday, April 19 at 7:30am

“Watch and pray” on the hour the night before Jesus begins his Passion. Our chapel will be open for silent prayer and meditation from the close of the Maundy Thursday Eucharist until 7:30am on Good Friday. Readings, books, prayers, meditations, and nourishment will be available. A staff member will be in the building at all times.

FIRST NATIONS KITCHEN

Sunday, March 24 at All Saints Episcopal Indian Mission, 3044 Longfellow Ave, Minneapolis

We still greatly need volunteers to help with our March 24 date at First Nations Kitchen, which serves free dinners of traditional indigenous food. Available shifts include Food Prep 1:30-3:30pm, Setup 4-5pm, Dinner Service 5-6:30pm, and Clean-up 6:15-7:30pm.

PACK THE PEWS

Month of March

We’re still working toward our goal of collecting 1000 pounds of food this month. Additional bags and envelopes are available by the Kent Street entrance. All money and food collected in the month of March are used toward grants that HQB can use to extend their purchasing power in 2019. Thank you!

 

MISSION AREA GATHERING & LISTENING SESSION

This is your opportunity to share your hopes and desires for our new Bishop. The Bishop Search Committee is asking all ages to attend. Show up, Speak up and Share the Word. Come prepared to answer these questions: where in your community has God been most vibrantly alive for you; what new things does God seem to be doing among your community/mission area; how would you describe the Episcopal Church in MN; What is your BIG DREAM for ECMN; describe the 10th Bishop of Minnesota (have some fun!) Deadline is Sunday, April 14

Honor a loved one or give thanks for a special event with a gift towards the cost of Easter flowers. Those honored will be included in the Easter bulletins. You may also take your flowers home after 10am Easter worship.
