Join us at our annual church picnic with Holy Apostles for worship and baptisms, followed by a cookout. The churches will provide main dishes; please bring a dessert or salad to feed 10-12 people.

We’re Making Music

MUSIC FOR VIOLA AND PIANO CONCERT

Thursday, July 18 at 7pm, Church

Come enjoy beautiful music at St. John’s this summer. Mark Hatlestad, Viola, and Robert Ragoonanan, piano, present a concert featuring works by Takemitsu, Hindemith, and Milhaud. Everyone is invited.

Sing with the Choir This Summer

Any Sunday at 9am, Music Room

Help lead the congregation in the hymns and service music. Any Sunday that you’d like to participate, come to the music room by 9am to rehearse that day’s music. It’s a great opportunity to try choir for the first time, or simply to add your voice to the chorus glorifying God.

SCHOOL TOOLS

TODAY through August 18

This school supplies drive serves local children from low-income and homeless families. Backpacks, 3-ring binders, calculators, and facial tissue are most needed, but all donations of new school supplies are welcome. Drop donations off at the church.

COFFEE HOUR & KAYORO MENSTRUAL KIT ASSEMBLY

Sunday, July 21 at 11:15am, Parking Lot

In many developing nations, girls miss school when they have their period, or even drop out completely. Our stitchers made reusable menstrual kits that will be brought to Uganda by the group traveling to Kayoro Clinic in August. Please come to the Farmers’ Market (or the Fireside Room if it rains) to help assemble the kits. There will also be supplies to write a note or draw a picture for our friends in Kayoro. Come assist with and bless this valuable work!

Farmers from Holy Apostles are selling their produce—come shop! Volunteers are needed to host at the market or to deliver after-market produce to First Nations Kitchen in Minneapolis.

KIDS’ ICE CREAM WITH THE RECTOR

Sunday, July 21 and August 25 at 11:15am, Holly Tot Lot

Children and their grown-ups are invited to share some yummy ice cream and equally yummy sorbet with Jered Weber-Johnson. Weather permitting, we will meet at the church after 10am worship and then walk over to the nearby playground where the kids can run and parents can enjoy fellowship. If it rains, we’ll meet in the gym. Please RSVP so that we can purchase the right amount of sweet treats!

DISCOVER ST. JOHN’S
