HEALING PRAYER

Sundays During Advent

Healing Prayer and Anointing will be offered in the Chapel Sunday mornings during the distribution of Communion at the 10am service. During the 8am liturgy, please request this ministry of the clergy who will pray with you and anoint you after the service.

CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

Sunday, December 22 during 10am Worship

Children of all ages (and adults) who wish to participate and share the story of Christmas are asked to attend at least one meeting on either December 15 and/or December 21 from 2:30-3:30pm. Wear your own costume or use one provided.

Wednesday, December 25 at 10am in the Church

Christmas Eve worship services at 4pm and 10pm with a musical prelude at 3:30pm and 9:30pm. Nursery care is available during the 4pm worship for birth-4 years.

On Christmas morning, join us at 10am for Eucharist.

 

We’re Making Music

FESTIVAL OF NINE LESSONS & CAROLS

The parish choir, choristers, and handbell ensemble present this annual festival service to celebrate the Advent and Christmas seasons. Music by Herbert Howells, John Rutter, John Gardiner and more with a festive reception following.

Please collect a shopping list with grocery items needed for Christmas meals and bring items to the marked bins. Visit the Gift Trees with tags listing toy and clothing needs for Christmas gifts. Select a tag(s), purchase the item(s) or something similar you deem appropriate, and bring them unwrapped to the Gym by December 13. All donations will be distributed to HQB client families. Our Mustard Seed offering on December 8 will also benefit HQB.

ADVENT WREATHS & POP-UP MARKET

Advent Wreath Making Following 10am worship:

For all ages to make advent wreaths together! Invite a friend. Refreshments and all materials provided.

Pop-up Market after 8am and 10am worship: Holy Apostles will sell crafts and eggrolls. Give Us Wings, our partner with St. John’s Clinic Kayoro, will also host a stand. Come shop for Christmas.

 

CHRISTMAS FLOWERS & GREENS MEMORIALS & DEDICATIONS

Donations Due by December 19
Honor a loved one or give thanks for a special event with a  gift towards the cost of Christmas greens and flowers decorating the church. Names of those honored will be included in the Christmas bulletins. You may choose to take flowers home or share them with others who could not attend Christmas services, after Christmas Day. Please make checks payable to St. John’s with “Christmas Flowers” in the memo line.

LGBTQ+ SPIRITUAL LIFE GROUP

Friday, December 6 at 5pm, Fireside Room

Wear an ugly festive sweater and share a story that celebrates Christmas and being faithfully LGBTQ+. We’ll assign roles for the Holy Eucharist and Festive Reception for The Feast of Saint Aelred of Rievaulx. Snacks provided, but please bring your own beverages and other snacks to share.

ALL AGES PARISH CHRISTMAS PARTY

Saturday, December 7 at 5:30pm, Gym

Adults and youth meet in the Gym. We’ll serve small plates/hearty appetizers. Vegetarian, dairy, and gluten free options available. Please bring a dessert to share. Donations for the cost of food are not required, but will be gratefully accepted at the party. Author Jay Hornbacher will read children A Letter from Saint Nicholas to Children of Every Age. A saintly surprise guest is also rumored to be visiting. Childcare is provided, but please RSVP to nursery@stjohnsstpaul.org.
