Hallie Q Brown Community Center: bring donations to church by December 15
Help make the holidays just a little brighter! Donate to Hallie Q Brown’s toy and book drive to support local families in need this season. Hallie’s Toy Shop operates on a client-choice model, allowing families to choose what is right for their kids. Some ideas:
- Infants and Toddlers (ages 0-3): Soft toys, sensory and stacking toys, board books, and baby essentials.
- Young Children (ages 4-7): Interactive toys, books, puzzles, dolls, action figures, and art supplies.
- Pre-teens (ages 8-12): Building kits, science kits, board games, sports equipment, and craft sets.
- Teens (ages 13-18): Gift cards (for stores like Target, Walmart, or Amazon), art supplies, sports gear, journals, and personal care items.
Project Home Dignity Shop: bring donations to the Carondolet Center by December 16
What is a Dignity Shop? Instead of deciding for parents what their children might like or need, parents choose 2-3 items per child. They can choose to wrap the gifts or leave them unwrapped and give their children the gifts whenever they choose to celebrate. We do not have any specific toy or gift suggestions. Please remember that we serve a diverse group of families, children range in age from 0-18, we do not accept toy weapons, and we’d prefer gifts to be in the $15-25 range.
To make this effort successful, we need also need volunteers to organize the Holiday Dignity Shop, help parents shop and wrap gifts, and work with the children on holiday crafts and activities while parents are shopping. Learn more about this opportunity here: https://tinyurl.com/DignityShop2024
