The Episcopal Church nationally, and we here at Saint John’s, have a long history of welcoming and including gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer people. Join us for Twin Cities Pride as we celebrate the unique gifts of God’s GLBTQ children!
Saint Paul Saints Game: Twin Cities Pride is presenting the Friday, June 24 match between the Saints and the Winnipeg Goldeneyes. St. John’s has 20 tickets for the standing room only section of the Saints stadium. The game starts at 7:05pm; we will gather in the standing room only section at 6:45pm. Bring a lawn chair or claim an empty seat in the section, first come, first serve. Our tickets are free to anyone who wants them; a donation of $9 is also welcome. Please sign up in the back of the church or speak with a member of the clergy.
Pride Potluck: on Saturday, June 25, Bob Baumann and Bill Sherfey are hosting a potluck to celebrate Pride weekend for St. John’s members who identify as GLBTQ. It will be at their home at 6pm. There will be one grill going for meats and a second for vegetarian items. Bring a dish to share, or simply bring yourself. Contact Bob at [email protected] with questions.
Pride Parade: the morning of Sunday, June 26, Saint Mark’s Cathedral is inviting all Episcopal congregations in Minnesota to join them in marching in the 2016 Ashley Rukes GLBT Pride Parade. We will meet in the Cathedral parking lot, 519 Oak Grove St., Minneapolis, MN, at 9:45am. Saint Mark’s is running a bus to the start of the parade route. You can also meet us at the start of the parade route, at the intersection of Hennepin Ave. and N 3rd St., around 10:15am. Please sign up in the undercroft during coffee hour or speak with a member of the clergy; we need to give Saint Mark’s a head count for the bus.
