Replanting the Alleluias

On Sunday, March 5 (the first Sunday in Lent), our 10am worship will end with a procession to the Holly Garden. As part of their faith formation, our children will “replant the Alleluia” to symbolize putting away this joyful proclamation during the contemplative season of Lent. Clay pots filled with earth will be waiting to receive each symbol of “Alleluia” that the children will place in them. As we replant this sign of heaven’s song, we will ask God to help us to live a Lent full of insight as we move closer to God through Jesus Christ. The Alleluias will reappear for them in the baptistry on Easter. You are invited to process out with us after the service and join in this brief, yet meaningful, ritual.
