St. John’s May Evensong is a perfect treat for Mother’s Day on the 11th.
May Evensong: May 11, 2014 at 4 o’clock
The May Bean Memorial Evensong with Concert will feature music of two composers. Our St. John’s Choir will perform works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Charles Villier Stanford. We will present Mozart’s version of Missa brevis in F (literally “short Mass”) accompanied by a chamber orchestra. Stanford’s Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in G Major will be sung and feature soloists Brittany Pitts (soprano) and Paul Rudoi (tenor). Stanford’s lovely anthem, Beati quorum via, will also be performed. Organist Sharon Kleckner will accompany the service. A reception follows in our Fireside Room. This is a wonderful way to celebrate Mother’s Day!
