Artaria (St. John’s artists in residence) were featured in MN Original on TPT in January. Some of the filming was done at St. John.
If you would like to see an Artaria performance, make plans now to attend one of their two 2014 concerts at St. John’s. Both concerts will be held at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary on these dates:
- Friday, February 7, 2014
- Friday, April 25, 2014
Now celebrating their twenty fifth season, Artaria is known for refined and thoughtful playing that has brought them critical acclaim in celebrated venues throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Formed in Boston, and mentored by members of the legendary Budapest, La Salle, Kolisch, and Juilliard quartets, the Artaria String Quartet is firmly rooted in the tradition of chamber music performance and education.
In 2001, the ASQ moved to St. Paul where they have established an inviting four-concert series set in the intimate acoustic of Sundin Music Hall at Hamline University; as well as the Artaria Chamber Music School at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church; the Saint Paul String Quartet Competition, the only national event of its kind; and Stringwood, a summer chamber music festival set in picturesque Lanesboro, Minnesota.
