The senior youth of St. John the Evangelist are in the process of planning a pilgrimage to Alaska. With your help the youth will have the opportunity to focus inward and to serve God with open and willing hearts.
Participants in pilgrimage often find God both in new relationships, and in existing ones. The experience can be enriching on many levels and often is. Pilgrimage is a wide-ranging topic touching on many aspects of human existence, signifying not only a physical journey to a special place, but also an inner spiritual journey and indeed life itself.
Pilgrimage is often used to describe an individual’s journey through life, sometimes as a general description of personal growth and exploration, sometimes, as in Christianity, outlining a particular spiritual focus or pathway which it is believed will lead to encounter with God.
We are asking parishioners to help raise money for our pilgrimage by participating in the Christmas Silent Auction.
The Silent Auction will commence on Sunday, December 2nd at 9 am in the Undercroft and will continue through noon. Please check out the wonderful items available and get your bid in. The auction will continue on Saturday, December 8th 6-9 pm and Sunday, December 9th 9am-noon.
Please call Jean Hansen, 952-201-0424 with questions or for information. Thank you so much for supporting youth ministry in this worthy endeavor.
