St. John’s has hosted the Artaria Chamber Music School (ACMS) from its inception in 2002. Founded and operated by members of the Artaria String Quartet, the school teaches students the techniques and artistry needed to interpret important Classical, Romantic, and Modern Era chamber music masterpieces.

This program year, each liturgical season will carry a certain theme and seasonal arch. During the Fall through November 20, our Compline services’ theme will be Night, Light, Beginning.

“We chose Duluth for our choir retreat not only for its hospitality but also because of the love so many of us share for northern Minnesota.”

This summer, I will be stepping away from my duties as Music Director at St. John’s for a time of intentional rest, reflection, and renewal

“Why might we do this? Because it is something that matters.”

“This is my first Fauré Requiem and I have relished every moment.”

“I have been so grateful for this choir and the support I have received during a very difficult time in my life.”

The trip offered some incredible opportunities for the singers to deepen their connections with one another through sightseeing and fun.

“To take our ministry – what we rehearse, practice, offer and sing here at St. John the Evangelist – and transfer that into places like Canterbury and St. Albans Cathedrals is going to be an experience that will sit with all of us for a very long time.”
