Ken Cordle first came to St John’s because of our historic Skinner organ. “I’m not a cradle Episcopalian, but was drawn to the [Episcopal] Church largely because of the legacy of the Anglican choral music. I was born and raised in Southeast Michigan, but lived the last 32 years in Louisville, Kentucky. As we were anticipating moving to Minnesota, I literally googled ‘Episcopal Churches, Twin Cities’. I was drawn to St. John’s because of the pipe organ.” Soon after, he joined the choir and became a member.
A “foodie” and self-proclaimed bourbon snob, Ken loves talking about food. “I love exploring new restaurants and trying new recipes.” He is also a musician and loves all kinds of music, especially live performances. “I’m a potter, I love putzing in the yard, and have recently taken up crocheting. I’m just a weird person who loves to laugh and have fun. Weird people are my tribe.” He and his partner, Dustin, are dog dads to Stella & Joy.
While the organ may have been the initial draw, Ken says, “I keep coming back [to St John’s] because I value the inclusion of all people and witness that diversity each Sunday. And now I’m looking to settle in to a church community where I can share my talents.”
Welcome, Ken!
