Back on Sunday, April 28, the Kayoro Clinic Committee had hoped to be able to introduce Health Program Manager Anthony Munene to St. John’s in person. Unfortunately, Anthony was unable to travel to the USA because of difficulties in getting a visa. We were saddened that Anthony could not travel but were so grateful for the personal video that Anthony prepared for us in his absence.
Anthony helps the clinic respond to the medical, societal and cultural challenges within the community it serves, such as malaria and sickle-cell anemia, high rates of domestic violence and reliance on traditional practices like witchcraft instead of conventional medicine. The clinic is thriving under his leadership, and great things are happening in Uganda thanks to St. John’s Clinic Kayoro!
