Meet Staff Singer Charlie Carroll

by Richard Gray

At St. John’s, we are fortunate to have eight professional staff singers who serve as leaders within our choir. The combination of their musical skills, reliability, and spirit raises the quality of the music that we offer and contributes to creating a supportive and collaborative environment. We are featuring brief bios of our staff singers so our congregation can come to know even more about these wonderful leaders within our music ministry.

Charlie Carroll has been singing at St. John’s for three years. He is originally from Fort Collins, Colorado, but moved to Minnesota in 2018 to attend St. Olaf College. He graduated from St. Olaf in December 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Education and he works at Battle Creek Middle School as the Choir and Band teacher. Charlie has performed at the Colorado State University Center for Arts, the Buell Theater, and Orchestra Hall. He was a soloist with the St. Olaf Philharmonia and served as a section leader and vice president of the St. Olaf Chapel Choir. Charlie enjoys playing board games, going birding on the weekends, and playing the fiddle in his spare time.
