Another Great Eco Fair!

This past Saturday, May 16, St. John’s partnered with other area churches and Minnesota Interfaith Power and Light (MNIPL) to present the second annual Eco Fair on Summit, a celebration of all things green. MNIPL sent along this report, which we wanted to share with the congregation!

On Saturday, more than 500 people dropped by the Eco Fair on Summit, the largest Eco Fair in the region besides the State Fair.

From electric vehicle and e-bike test drives to tours of electric fire trucks and buses, folks of all ages got to experience the reality of our electric future. There were also resources from more than 40 companies and non-profit organizations offering things like energy audits, information on important legislation to support our clean energy future, and pollinator gardens.

There were also, importantly, baby goats, which were a big hit with children and with the writer of this MNIPL newsletter. Did you know that goats are great landscapers and can help clear brush, weeds, and invasive plants – and look great while doing it?

The Eco Fair on Summit was a vision MNIPL volunteers who were interested in bringing an eco fair to their neighborhood, and MNIPL is honored to have provided the logistical support and overall coordination to make that vision a reality. We are also so grateful to our co-hosts and to the Eco Fair sponsors.
