Heidi was looking for an LGBTQ+ affirming church and came across the Episcopal denomination. They tried out a few Episcopal churches in the Twin Cities area, and decided to stay at St John’s and become a member because of the thriving community and the enthusiastic, diverse congregation.
Heidi grew up in the southwest Minneapolis, and they and their partner, Izzy, met about nine years ago. They are hoping to purchase a home in the near future. Heidi works in retail and is an electronic music and hip-hop enthusiast, and Izzy is part of a local folk music group. They also love movies and food and enjoy trying out the wide variety of local restaurants.
Heidi looks forward to learning more about all the opportunities to get involved at St John’s. They have already participated in Bible study and are interested in learning more about community outreach via Project Home and food support (such as the Farmers’ Market and First Nations Kitchen). They are happy to have found St John’s.
