From September 8 — October 6, St. John the Evangelist is joining with other churches around the world in celebrating a Season of Creation through our Sunday liturgies. This past Sunday’s worship centered around the themes of Nature and Healing.
Time spent in nature can reduce your blood pressure, lower your heart rate, and improve your immune system as well as your mood. (Check out this article from Time Magazine to learn more about the healing power of nature.)

“Praying”
by Mary Oliver
It doesn’t have to be
the blue iris, it could be
weeds in a vacant lot, or a few
small stones; just

a few words together and don’t try
to make them elaborate, this isn’t
a contest but the doorway
into thanks, and a silence in which
another voice may speak.
