Holy Baptism is the sacrament by which God adopts us as his children and makes us members of Christ’s Body, the Church, and inheritors of the kingdom of God.
Baptisms are performed on certain days of the church year. They are: The Baptism of Our Lord, The Great Vigil of Easter, Pentecost, Transfiguration Sunday, and the Sunday after All Saints Day.
All candidates for baptism, or their parent(s), are required to meet with one of the clergy prior to the baptism date. For parents and godparents of infants and children, an instructional class and rehearsal is held from 9:30am to noon the Saturday before the baptism. Parents and godparents are expected to attend the Saturday class and rehearsal.
