Helping Families Sleep Safe at Night
Project Home provides emergency shelter and rapid exit case management services for area families facing homelessness. In March 2021, Interfaith Action formed a partnership with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and Ramsey County to move Project Home to the Provincial House on Randolph Avenue in Saint Paul. The new location has allowed Interfaith Action, the umbrella organization that includes Project Home, to double its capacity to serve families experiencing homelessness. In this supportive environment, families have a safe place to live and assistance with finding employment and permanent, affordable housing.
While Project Home does not currently offer shelters in faith communities, as it did for more than 20 years, St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church and other faith communities continue to provide vital volunteer support at the Provincial House. Currently, SJE volunteers prepare and serve dinner to Project Home families one Sunday per month. The number of guests has ranged between 40 and 80 over the past year.
