St. John’s Spiritual Life Groups nurture the spirit in intentional communities.
In the wider community, we advocate for hunger relief, safe housing, and accessible health services. We pursue our mission through local and global partnerships, personal service, supportive prayer, and financial contributions.
We believe God is revealed in many ways, primarily through Scripture, the wisdom of the church and its history, and our own reason and experience. These are the “tools” we use to search for God.
Wherever you may be in your spiritual journey, we welcome you!
The music program at St. John’s engages people of all ages in a wide range of musical possibilities. Our ensembles provide a sense of belonging, a place where people care about one another. Together we discover what it means to sing and rejoice in the Lord through music.
The ministry of pastoral care is shared by every member of our parish. As Christians in community, we care for one another.
St. John’s ongoing impact relies on you — our parishioners — to commit time, talent, and financial support, to sustain the ministries that improve the lives of our members and the communities we support.
We are so glad you found your way to St John the Evangelist Episcopal Church. Whether you are a long time Episcopalian or have never stepped foot in a church, we welcome you!
Congratulations on your engagement! St. John’s celebrates the sacrament of marriage and covenant blessing for members as well as for potential members of the parish, and for those who are children of members. Potential members are people who will live in the St. Paul, MN area and are in the process of becoming a member of St. John’s. Neither person is required to be an Episcopalian while the ceremony is being planned, but at least one of the couple must be a baptized Christian. We do not rent out our space for non-member ceremonies.
If you are planning a wedding or covenant blessing, the first step is to speak to The Reverend Jered Weber-Johnson at [email protected].
Next, complete a Wedding Reservation form (available from the church office at [email protected]). This also has information on wedding costs.
Finally, at least one month before the wedding, following consultation with clergy and the Music Director, please complete this Wedding Bulletin form (fillable PDF) and return it to the church office at [email protected]. For a list of suggested Scripture readings, click here.
Grant that the bonds of our common humanity, by which all your children are united one to another, and the living to the dead, may be so transformed by your grace, that your will may be done on earth as it is in heaven; where, O Father, with your Son, and the Holy Spirit, you live and reign in perfect unity, now and for ever. Amen.
