Help serve our neighbors in need by bringing as many groceries and toiletries as possible to church by Sunday, March 22 and “pack the pews” with love for our neighbors. With federal funding cuts and ICE raids forcing people of color to stay home and avoid their places of work, the need for assistance has never been higher.
Grocery bags are available at church with suggested shopping lists. You can see a graphic of Hallie Q. Brown Food Shelf’s most common monthly needs below. For the month of March, they especially need:
- Soup
- Tuna
- Canned chicken
- Rice: long-grain white, brown
- Pasta sauce
- Tomato sauce
- Canned diced tomatoes
We will gather all our donations and bless them during worship on March 22. So bring your donations to the labeled bins at church, and get ready to pack the pews with generosity and love!
You can also make a financial donation here (choose “Mustard Seed” for the fund). Financial donations are extremely important for the Hallie Q. Brown Food Shelf because their access to bulk-buying programs allows them to buy twice as much per dollar as you can at the grocery store. It also gives them the ability to purchase fresh produce, perishables like milk and meat, and culturally-specific food needs for their clients.
