Ruby Bridges is the subject of our sermon on Sunday, and we have an amazing story about her from our “Tell Me the Truth About Racism” curriculum.

It is such an honor to be a witness to the wonder, challenges, and growth of our young people.

We are looking at helping our children connect more deeply with our liturgical year by offering temporary, reusable, seasonal art installations that directly amplify liturgical seasons in a kinesthetic way.

“It provides a method of discussion that the participants can carry with them as they think and rehear these stories that are so central to our faith.”

The Youth Group chose Gospel passages and rewrote them in emojis. Yesterday, we shared the stories with you — and today, here are the answers!

At a gathering of the Youth Group a few months ago, the youth chose Gospel passages and rewrote them in emojis. Can you identify the stories that are being told?

“In August, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek H. Murthy called on the nation, including religious communities, to reimagine our collective care in supporting caregivers and their children, saying, ‘Raising children is sacred work. It should matter to all of us.'”

“Anytime we travel abroad, we learn not only about another culture but about ourselves.”

“We have our monthly Racial Healing Eucharist, a special Gospel presentation, the Blessing of the Backpacks and Craig’s sabbatical, a Croatian-themed coffee hour … I wanted to write an invitation to everything in a way that would make sense, but how could I bring them all together?”

“We will engage the culture as pioneers, and learn new and illuminating things about the history of the church.”
