First Nations Kitchen
October 5 and November 23
We always have a great time serving at this ministry by indigenous people, for indigenous people. Volunteers are needed for the 12:30-3pm Prep Shift (cleaning and bagging produce, prepping and packing meals, washing dishes) and for the 3:30-5:30 pm Giveaway Shift outdoors (greet guests, manage traffic flow, hand out meal packs and extras, clean up afterwards.)
If you have questions about volunteering please email Don Weinkauf.

Active Hope Book Group
Mondays, September 15-October 6 at 7pm at Unity Church-Unitarian, 733 Portland Avenue
How are you feeling about the state of the world, especially as it relates to climate change and environmental degradation? Join us in reading Active Hope: How to Face the Mess We’re in with Unexpected Resilience and Creative Power by Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone. Discover how ACTIVE HOPE is not wishful thinking but determining what we want our future to be and actively working individually and collectively toward making it happen. We will read the book, meet in facilitated small and large groups to discuss our learnings and reflections, engage in some experiential practices together, and connect with others who care deeply about the earth and our collective future. Co-sponsored by Unity Church Unitarian, Twin Cities Work That Reconnects, and St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church. Click here to register.
