September 14: “Iona Pilgrimage Stories of Belonging.” A presentation from parishioners who traveled to Iona this summer and how they found belonging and connection, despite the challenges of illness, weather, and travel.

September 21: “Croatia Stories of Belonging.” A presentation from the youth pilgrims and adult leaders who traveled to Croatia this summer.

September 28: Ritchie TwoBulls and members of the First Nations Kitchen community will share about how indigenous perspectives inform their care for the environment and their feeding ministry.

October 5: Kara Breci, founder and director of SoulSpace Farm, will share about creating a community of compassion for all beings.

October 12, 19, and 26: Members of St. John’s Capital Campaign committee and Vandersall Collective will lead a three-part series exploring the theology and praxis grounding St. John’s Capital Campaign.

November 2, 9, 16, and 23:  In tandem with our Wednesday Supper Series (see at right), discussions about sharing food and finding belonging as core Christian spiritual practices.

RACIAL JUSTICE AND HEALING RETREAT
Saturday, September 20 at St. Andrew’s in Duluth
The retreat is a partnership of ECMN and Duluth area churches: St. Andrew’s by the Lake, St. Paul’s, and Trinity. During this retreat we will look at how systemic racism impacts education. Dr. Kat Werchouski, member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe, will speak on the history and current impact of Native boarding school. Duluth school board member, Henry Banks, will address how we can work for equity within education. The Rev. John Cole, executive director of Chum, will be our guest preacher. We are committed to making this retreat accessible to all. You are invited to pay what you can. Click here to register.

CREATION CARE LECTURE
Wednesday, October 1 from 7-8:30pm in the Church and on YouTube
Dr. Steven Jorissen, adjunct professor of chemistry at St. Thomas University, will lead a lecture and discussion on the topic “Tackling Carbon Emissions: Embracing the Power of Change.”

WEDNESDAY SUPPER SERIES
October 29-November 19, from 5:30-7pm
Each evening in this series will offer meal prepared by St. John’s chefs and a facilitated table conversation. In this season of All Saints and All Souls, come and share in ways feasts knit us together within the communion of saints, past, present, and yet to come.

DWELLING IN THE ILLUMINATED WORD: THE SAINT JOHN’S BIBLE
Saturday, November 15 from 10am-Noon in the Church
The Sant John’s Bible was commissioned by Saint John’s Abbey & University in Collegeville, MN. Brad Neary, Director of The Saint John’s Bible Heritage Program, will share the story of this remarkable and unique work of Scripture and sacred art. One volume of the illuminated fine art Heritage Edition will be available for attendees to experience (and yes, even turn the pages!)
