The followers of Jesus, the disciples, included men and women, married and single, people of different ages, fishermen and tax collectors, perhaps farmers, shepherds, and day laborers. And at least one rich man. An eclectic bunch. Perhaps you and I might find we can imagine ourselves as disciples.
“Our hope is not in our government to do the right thing. Our hope is in Jesus and in the assurance that in the end God’s love wins. This means we are still called to stand with our neighbors.”
I was hungry in the wilderness. I know your hunger. I was anxious in the garden of Gethsemane. I know your anxiety and I am with you.
