Help at First Nations Kitchen

We are seeking volunteers for our quarterly work with First Nations Kitchen on Sunday December 26th .  In total, we need 8 volunteers, 4 for the Prep-Shift (12-2:30pm), and 4 for the Give Away Shift (3:30 to 5:30pm).  Several have already signed up.   Shift responsibilities are listed below.  It is a thoughtful, humbling way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

If you would like to volunteer for a slot, please email Don Weinkauf ( [email protected] ). If you know others who would be interested in this volunteer opportunity, please pass along this info.

Prep Shift:  12:00 – 2:30 pm:  Cleaning, sorting, bagging produce; packing up To Go meals, washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces.

Give Away Shift:  3:30 – 5:30 pm: Set up the area outside where the To Go meals are distributed, greet guests and get their order, hand out meal packs and extras, and clean up afterwards. It is especially helpful at this shift to have a volunteer with some Spanish speaking ability.

COVID safety protocols during both shifts include wearing masks and social distancing.
