We are seeking volunteers for our work with First Nations Kitchen on Sunday, April 21. It is a thoughtful, humbling way to spend a Sunday afternoon. This unique ministry in Minneapolis provides a weekly free meal of fresh organic food to all their neighbors, who are mainly indigenous people. It’s a chance for human connection, which can feel all too rare for some in these times, and to feed others in both body and spirit.

It’s also a lot of fun to volunteer here! Everyone always talks about having a great time. Kids are encouraged to come along and help too!

There are two shifts available:

Prep Shift (12:30-3pm): Cleaning, sorting, bagging produce; packing up To Go meals, washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces.

Give Away Shift (3:30-5:30 pm): Mainly outdoors. Setting up the area outside where the meals are distributed, greeting guests, handing out meal packs and extras, and cleaning up afterwards. (It is especially helpful at this shift to have a volunteer with some Spanish speaking ability.)
